What Being Pentecostal Means to Me --- 9/25/2007

Someone that is not Pentecostal sees long hair, skirts, and a modestly dressed lady when they look at me. But being Pentecostal is so much more than standards. It’s knowing the truth and experiencing it first-hand.

Many people have asked if I will I walk away from my faith when I move out of my parent’s home. NO WAY!! I’m not Pentecostal because my parents make me. I just truly believe that I am walking in the truth. If I am walking in the truth, which consists of the following three salvation steps: baptism in Jesus’ name, repentance, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, then I will make it to Heaven. Honestly, who doesn’t want to go there?!

Being Pentecostal is not a religion; it is a relationship with God, a life choice. Many leaders from my church have had a positive influence on me. These influences have strengthened my conviction that this is not just a life choice but a great choice. When I lie down at night I feel the peace of God, and when I walk into church I feel the presence of God. Many more experiences like these help me realize how blessed I am to be Pentecostal.

For those of you who think that you would like to experience what I have described, check it out yourself, I invite you to my church!
